Experimentation

Zhen, my classmate and I  volunteered to try out Placrylic paints at UAL. It was a collection of Eco Friendly pigments that you can mix by yourself to create paint. We tested on canvas, paper and wood pallets. I honestly didn't like the feel of them, they were hard to paint with and needed a minimum of 4 to 5 layers before you start getting a strong color out of the pigment. Other colors, like the green, were very grainy and didn't apply well at all on any surface. I think the idea and concept of the paint is great but the execution still needs work.

This workshop was given by Hannah and Gabriel that was organized by Craig.

Experiment with color and water

Playing with the idea of the morphed:

rather then creating an outer layer with deferent elements of combined fruits, I drew a sketch with only the insides being different. So the outer shell is perfectly presented as an apple but when cut in half it has the insides of an orange kiwi and a strawberry. i would like to create ceramic sculptures of this, I think it could be a great outcome. but for now a few sketches and watercolor pieces.

This is my attempt at creating a large grape. This was suppose to be part of my final MA show sculpture placed on the ground. But with a lot of trials and errors this was the only piece i could create, which looked more like a jar than a grape.

I'm not sure if it was my building technique or the type of clay I was using but it kept on collapsing, I couldn't make the whole on top small enough without it falling in to its self. Then once it started drying it would always crack. I think it was because I tried to make it as thin as possible since i wanted to have at least 8 of them I wanted to have one or two hanging from a branch, floating.

anyways at least i tired. size:30x30x40 cm
